A recent <b><a href="http://consumer.healthday.com/cancer-information-5/breast-cancer-news-94/preventive-removal-of-healthy-breast-has-little-survival-benefit-study-finds-689724.html">study</a></b> points to little benefit obtained by the removal of "the healthy breast" in young women diagnosed with <a href="http://www.medpagetoday.com/HOTTOPICS2014Update/PrimaryCare/GeneralPrimaryCare-Videos/667" target="_blank">breast cancer</a>.  Turns out that early detection and the stage at which the cancer is detected is more important than whether the second breast is removed.This trend had been growing since several celebrities have been opting for this.<br />

Certainly Matching a breast reconstruction with another reconstruction is often easier than to try to <b><i><a href="http://dr-pena.blogspot.com/2014/05/seri-scaffold-for-long-term-breast.html">"lift" </a></i></b>the un-involved  breast to match. This however may be a better reason for the double mastectomy than to prolong the patients life.<br />
